The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has revealed his reasons for backing the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, in the upcoming November 8, 2025, election.
Obi made the disclosure in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday following a town hall meeting and campaign event held by Moghalu in Nimo, Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, over the weekend.
“Together with the Obidient family, I fully support @MoghaluGeorge because his campaign manifesto places human development at the heart of governance.
“He is committed to strengthening security, advancing education, improving healthcare, and lifting our people out of poverty—at a time when the safety of lives and property, as well as the future of our children’s education, remain critical concerns,” he stated.
The former governor noted that beyond competence, Moghalu has consistently demonstrated capacity, compassion, and character, describing the qualities as the essential values of true leadership.
He further expressed confidence that under Moghalu’s leadership, Anambra will not only make progress but also achieve meaningful improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI), thereby securing a brighter and more dignified future for its residents.
