How Henkel Nigeria Celebrated Children’s Day with Fun Science Activities in Lagos

Henkel Nigeria, a leading German multinational company known for brands like WAW, Nittol, and got2b, joined the Omole Phase 2 community in celebrating this year’s Children’s Day by contributing fun and educational science activities as part of the event in Lagos State.

The event was part of Henkel’s educational initiative designed to introduce children into the fascinating world of science, called Forscherwelt (Researchers’ World). This year’s topic focused on dental hygiene, teaching children how to take care of their teeth.

The session was facilitated by Modinah Adebiyi-Soliu from Girls and Women Empowerment and Technological Organization (GWETO), who led an engaging science-based activity focused on Dental Hygiene.

Through live experiments, the children learned how poor brushing habits allow food and drinks to stain teeth, using simple demonstrations that made the science easy to understand.

The interactive session sparked curiosity, encouraged participation, and helped the children connect science to everyday habits in a fun and meaningful way.

Rajat Kapur, Managing Director of Henkel Nigeria, shared: “At Henkel, we are committed to supporting meaningful learning in STEM opportunities for children both in and beyond the classroom. Our participation in the Omole Phase 2 Children’s Day event reflects our dedication to encouraging healthy habits and scientific curiosity from a young age.

“Collaborating with our partners GWETO allows us to extend the impact of our Forscherwelt programme and help nurture the next generation of informed and inspired minds.”

Henkel Nigeria noted that it remains committed to supporting education, healthy living, and innovation in the communities where it operates.

Through continued partnerships and community engagement, the company aims to expand the reach of its Forscherwelt initiative, bringing hands-on science learning to more children across Nigeria.

By nurturing curiosity and encouraging lifelong learning, Henkel hopes to empower the next generation to build a brighter and more sustainable future.
