Atiku Condemns Jos Attack, Calls for Urgent Action Against Insecurity

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the attack in Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, which led to the deaths of several residents and injured many others.
Atiku described the attack, which occurred on Sunday night, March 29, 2026, as a heinous assault and another damning indictment of the near-total collapse of security in Nigeria.
“What we are witnessing is not merely a security lapse, but a tragic descent into lawlessness where human lives are treated as expendable,” he said.
Atiku lamented that despite endless pronouncements and marching orders, insecurity remains grim, describing the situation as the daily reality of ordinary Nigerians who continue to bear the brunt of a failing system.
“It is long past the time for outrage without action,” he stated, stressing that the anger across the land must now compel urgent, decisive political will to confront and crush this menace.
The former Vice President also decried that the continued slaughter of innocent citizens cannot become the country’s new normal.
He further condoled with the affected families, saying: “My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims in this dark and painful moment.”
