
Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu, on Wednesday, assumed leadership of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’, Ikeja, Lagos, under the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
Comptroller Shuaibu succeeded Comptroller Kolapo Oladeji, becoming the 28th Customs Area Controller of FOU Zone ‘A’.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Unit, Hussaini Abdullahi.
Speaking at the brief handing-over ceremony held at the Unit’s conference hall, Shuaibu pledged to deploy his wealth of experience in navigating the Unit’s complexities.
He sought the support and maximum cooperation of the officers and men of the Unit to effectively deliver on the Service’s mandates.
The Comptroller emphasised adherence to the NCS’s seven golden rules (7Cs), describing them as essential guidelines for officers’ conduct and decision-making.
Shuaibu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for the opportunity to lead FOU Zone ‘A’.
The new helmsman also expressed confidence in the Unit’s ability to excel in fulfilling its mandates.
“Comptroller Shuaibu, a seasoned officer per excellence, has worked and served in different capacities across several customs formations,” the statement noted.
In his farewell remarks, outgoing Controller, Comptroller Oladeji encouraged his successor to sustain the Unit’s progress and maintain its momentum.
He expressed confidence in Comptroller Shuaibu’s ability to enhance the efficiency of the Unit.
Oladeji thanked CGC Adeniyi and the management team for the opportunity to serve, while also appreciating the support of the officers and men during his tenure.
