In a bid to mitigate the challenges faced by people with disabilities, DAKOFA Foundation launched its initiative on Saturday, empowering 100 individuals with ‘physical limitation’ in Lagos.
DAKOFA gifted them several relief items including wheelchairs, crutches, and other packages.
In her remarks, the Foundation’s founder, Damilola Fayoyin recounted her personal story of overcoming adversity after an accident left her with an injury.
Fayoyin emphasised the Foundation’s mission to make a positive impact on the lives of others facing similar challenges.
“You may not be able to do what you did before, but you can make a change for a better life,” she said.
Pastor Wole Oladiyun of Christ Living Spring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM) and Mrs. Bunmi Ojomu delivered impactful speeches, highlighting the importance of supporting individuals with disabilities.
Earlier in her welcome address, the mother of the founder, Hon. (Chief. Mrs.) Olusola Kokumo expressed delight and assured unwavering support for the Foundation’s initiatives.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to DAKOFA Foundation, stressing the significant impact of the items in their lives.
According to Fayoyin, the launch marks the beginning of a beautiful journey, empowering people with disabilities and promoting inclusivity in the society.
The event also featured educational sessions on sensitization and awareness, as well as presentations from a range of guest speakers.
DAKOFA Foundation, with the slogan ‘Spreading Love and Empowerment’ is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with disabilities.
