The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede has charged the staff of the agency to upscale their commitment in tackling corruption in Nigeria.
Mr. Olukoyede gave the charge in a statement issued by the Head, Media & Publicity, EFCC, Dele Oyewale on Wednesday, acknowledging the efforts of the Commission’s staff in fighting corruption in the country.
His words: “Let me use this opportunity to wish you all compliments of the season. No doubt, you have all shown great commitment to the task of fighting economic and financial crimes. Our mandate in this regard is clear and I earnestly appreciate you day- to-day adherence to its spirit and letter.
“To make the most of this calling, I charge you to continue your steadfast services to the nation by improving on your commitment and dedication to the works of moving the nation forward.”
He conceded that every staff of the Commission deserves applause for their patriotic drives and selfless inclination to riding the nation of corrupt practices.
“Additionally, I know the sacrifices, risks and industry involved in tackling corrupt practices. As staff of the EFCC, you have shown uncommon dedication, focus and courage in plying your jobs. I believe you can do better. I believe your energy will always be positively directed,” the Chairman enthused.
He added: “We are working for a better deal for our nation. We cannot afford to rest on our oars. Let’s keep the flag flying. I assure that the work environment will continue to get better as we offer our best in service to the nation.”
