Gov. Abiodun Launches ₦500m Loan Scheme for Artisans, Traders

The Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, has introduced the distribution of ₦500 million soft loan scheme for artisans and traders across the state.

Mr. Abiodun announced on X on Wednesday that the initiative, known as “Oko’wo Irinse Dapo” (Empowerment is good under Dapo/Support is beneficial under Dapo’s administration) will commence within 30 days after finalising the disbursement details.

“Recognising the crucial role of traders and artisans in the state’s economic development, we are committed to supporting them as key partners in our ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda.

“Additionally, we are distributing grants and subventions to over 200 community development associations and various development committees throughout the state,” he disclosed.

He stated that the effort is part of a broader initiative to empower youth through the upcoming Ogun Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Scheme (OG-YES), which will provide further loans and grants.

The Governor stressed that his administration remains dedicated to strengthening community associations and ensuring that policies are community-driven and focused on improving lives.

He added: “We appreciate the Community Development Council for honouring us as Grand Patrons of the International Community and World Trade Day celebrations.”
