The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday announced the inauguration of the construction of a 27-block Platinum Shopping Complex along LASU-Iyana Iba Road.
Mr. Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the project will be executed in four (4) phases, with each block containing 30 shops, ultimately resulting in 1,500 shops.
“This initiative is not just about improving infrastructure; it’s also about enhancing the aesthetic quality of our environment and uplifting the lifestyles of our citizens,” he stated.
The governor, who also visited the site of the General Hospital project in Ojo town gave the contractor responsible for the construction a 12-month deadline, and emphasised the need for timely progress.
According to him, the Ojo General Hospital will cover 6.5 hectares along the Lagos-Badagry corridor and have 280 beds.
“This facility is a critical initiative by our administration to enhance medical care in the Lagos West Senatorial District. In addition to the medical facilities, the project will include four blocks of doctors’ residences to accommodate our healthcare professionals.
“The main hospital will feature a delivery theatre, a pharmacy, oncology, gynaecology, accident and emergency services, an intensive care unit, surgical wards, a dialysis centre, an administrative unit, and an outpatient department.
“Ancillary facilities will include a morgue, central laboratory, equipment storage, laundry, a bank, an engineering department, and ample parking,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stressed.
He mentioned that upon completion, it will be the largest healthcare facility in the district, complementing the existing primary and secondary care facilities.
