As one of his demands in the ongoing nationwide protest, a protester identified as Akpo Ebireri has disclosed that he wants Fisayo Soyombo’s report on Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to be investigated.
It would be recalled that Soyombo, the founder of Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) did a series of reports some months ago ‘revealing’ how Customs officials are enablers of anti-smuggling activities.
However, Ebireri, who joined the nationwide protest on Thursday has asked for investigation of the reports amongst other things as parts of his demands for the #EndBadGovernance protest.
He demanded: “I want unicameral legislature, I want transparent fight against insecurity, I want Fisayo’s Custom report, I want housing reform to stop the inflation, NSITF/ITF does nothing for me, scrap it.
“Enough of institutional arrogance; you must be accountable, we must have thorough police reform, publicise public servants income. Hunger Dey.”
