The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has declared a two-day nationwide protest slated for February 27 and 28 respectively.
The President of the Union, Mr. Joe Ajaero made the declaration during a press conference at the Labour House in Abuja on Friday.
According to him, the protest was announced due to the economic hardship that has continued to affect Nigerians following the removal of fuel subsidy in May 2023.
Ajaero said: “It is regrettable that we are compelled to resort to such measures, but the persistent neglect of the welfare of citizens and Nigerian workers and the massive hardship leave us with no choice.”
He also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has failed to address the needs of the citizens since the rise of the situation.
