Obi Donates ₦15m to Philomena College of Nursing in Edo

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has donated ₦15 million to St. Philomena College of Nursing Sciences in Benin City, Edo State.

Obi disclosed this on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, explaining that for Nigeria to truly develop, the leaders must prioritise healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation, describing them as the core pillars that define every progressive nation.

He wrote: “It’s in line with this commitment that I visited Philomena College of Nursing Sciences in Benin City, Edo State – an institution I have consistently supported for its vital role in strengthening our healthcare system.

“To aid their ongoing work in training dedicated nurses and improving healthcare delivery, I made a modest contribution of ₦15 million. Such investments are among the most effective ways to build a better future.”

The politician expressed gratitude to the management, staff, and students for their warm welcome and commended their dedication.

He added that a new Nigeria will emerge when leaders invest in the people and lift them out of poverty.
