
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday, donated ₦5 million to St. Luke Church Hospital in Ogbaru, Anambra State.
Obi made this known on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the donation is aimed at revamping the laboratory of the hospital.
He wrote: “My humanitarian-induced visits to critical areas of development continued today to St. Luke Church Hospital in Ogbaru, owned by the Anglican Diocese of Ogbaru, where I donated ₦5 million to support their laboratory upgrade.
“Modern diagnostic tools are essential for timely, accurate patient care. This upgrade will save lives, and I pledge to monitor progress and provide additional assistance as needed.”
The former Anambra State Governor expressed gratitude to Bishop Prosper Amah for his warm reception and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Ogbaru community.
He noted that Bishop Amah’s leadership and dedication to service are truly commendable.
Obi affirmed that investments in healthcare and education are the cornerstones of sustainable development.
“By empowering our hospitals and schools, we invest in the well-being and future of our people. I remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift our communities and build a better Nigeria,” the politician added.
