
As part of efforts to enhance security, the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reinforced its partnership with key agencies, including the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate.
The Garrison Commander of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Brigadier General Abubakar Saddiq Bugaje, paid a courtesy visit to the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
While stating the purpose of his visit, Brigadier General Bugaje expressed his profound appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation.
He noted that the Nigerian Army is saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property within Oyo State and emphasised the need for sustained cooperation among security agencies, as no agency can operate in isolation.
The Garrison Commander reaffirmed the commitment of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army to continued collaboration and support for the Command in addressing security challenges within the state.
In his response, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Moses Adewole, acknowledged the vital role of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding the nation against external aggression and maintaining internal security.
DC Adewole assured the Brigadier General Bugaje that the Command deeply values the existing relationship and remains committed to strengthening collaboration for enhanced operational efficiency.
Similarly, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Acting CAC, accompanied by members of the Command’s Management Team, paid a familiarisation visit to the EFCC Zonal Office in Ibadan.
Speaking during the visit, Adewole commended the Commission for its unwavering efforts in combating corruption and financial crimes in the country.
He further sought to sustain collaboration with the Commission in the areas of joint operations, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
In her response, the EFCC Zonal Director, Mrs. Hauwa Garba Ringim, appreciated the visit and affirmed the cordial and symbiotic relationship between the EFCC and the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Mrs. Ringim assured the Controller of the Commission’s continued support and collaboration, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and enforcement activities.
The engagements highlight the Oyo/Osun Area Command’s unwavering commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with sister agencies to enhance national security, promote transparency, and ensure effective service delivery for national development.
