PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, 9 Others Over Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the expulsion of 11 members, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, for anti-party activities.

Others expelled include Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar Bature, Adeyemi Ajibade, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Hon. Austine Nwachukwu, Abraham Amah, George Turner, and Chief Dan Orbih.

The PDP disclosed this after a motion was passed at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, which began on Saturday and is expected to continue on Sunday.

“The decision, which was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscores the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress,” the party said.

It added that the expelled members committed various breaches of its constitution, including supporting and canvassing votes for opposition parties.
