Labour Party’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has said that uninformed citizenry is the dream of every selfish politician.
Mr. Rhodes-Vivour made the statement on X, formerly Twitter on Friday explaining that poorly educated citizens do not have a mind of their own.
He stressed that they attack each other despite sufferings caused by politicians.
“A poorly educated citizenry is the dream of every self-serving politician. Such citizens are easily manipulated to vote against their collective and individual interest, whilst they fight their fellow citizen, both of whom suffer great hardship from a thieving political class,” he stated.
According to him, the politician who develops and appeals to one’s mind will leave an individual productive and independent, “while those that rely on your belly will leave you unemployed and hungry.”
He also disclosed that when education budgets are measly or when history is taken out of schools and it’s teaching mediocre, it is hardly accidental, adding that “it is by design”.
