The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of seven thousand, one hundred and ninety-four (7194) Inspectors to the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP11).
This comes following the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun after the officers passed the Departmental Selection Board (DSB) to the new rank.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, the newly promoted officers have been charged to put their acquired experience to maximum use in line with the modern standards of policing and discharge their duties in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Commenting on the promotion of the officers, IGP Egbetokun congratulated the promoted officers and reiterated that the Force is committed to improving the welfare of officers under his leadership.
He also stated that he will ensure that promotions are timely and merit based.
