Ramadan: Tin Can Customs Boss, Onyeka Hosts Stakeholders to Foster Unity, Understanding 

The Controller of Tin Can Island Port Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Frank Onyeka on Wednesday, hosted a Ramadan dinner for a diverse group of stakeholders to promote unity and understanding.

Comptroller Onyeka welcomed the stakeholders at the Command’s headquarters in Apapa, Lagos.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Oscar Ivara.

In his welcome address, Onyeka noted that Ramadan is a time for reflection, self-discipline, and compassion.

He explained that the purpose of the event extended beyond providing food as it aimed to foster open dialogue and mutual understanding.

“This dinner is a way to show solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters during this sacred month. It’s an opportunity to celebrate their devotion to faith, while also recognising the shared values of community, kindness, and empathy,” the Comptroller stated.

On his part, the Chief Imam of Tin Can Island Mosque, Imam Sadiq Mohammed expressed gratitude to Comptroller Onyeka for organising the dinner.

Imam Mohammed described the event as a thoughtful initiative to bridge the gap between all religions at the port, and offered prayers for the success of the Command.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics (APFFLON) Tin Can Island Command Chapter, Alhaji Akeem Ayobiojo lauded Onyeka for fostering unity and understanding at the port.

“This dinner is a testament to the spirit of unity and mutual respect we strive to cultivate here at Tin Can Island Port. Through this event, Comptroller Onyeka has created an environment where our differences are celebrated, and our shared humanity is recognised,” Mr. Ayobiojo remarked.

The event was attended by key figures, including members of the Armed Forces, Customs Licensed Agents, Terminal Operators, and Shipping Line Operators.
