The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) has announced Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, as a recipient of its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Legislative Excellence and Selflessness.
According to AMJON, the award recognises Senator Eshilokun’s outstanding contributions to legislative oversight, maritime development, and community empowerment.
It noted that with a distinguished career spanning over two decades, the Senator has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to public service.
Senator Eshilokun’s impressive background in public service includes serving as two-term Executive Chairman of Lagos Island LGA; three-term Member of Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Lagos Island Constituency; two-term Deputy Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, and presently the Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly.
The association disclosed that the Lifetime Achievement Award is a testament to his dedication to promoting maritime development and community empowerment.
The award ceremony will take place on November 13, 2025, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos.
AMJON congratulated Senator Eshilokun, describing the award as a well-deserved recognition, adding that it looks forward to celebrating the achievements with the maritime community.
