The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has warned members of the public about fraudulent individuals demanding money in exchange for assistance in gaining teaching employment with the state government.
According to Lagos State Government, the Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, issued the warning and advised the public not to fall victim to scammers claiming to help with the shortlisting of applicants or selling TESCOM teaching slots to unsuspecting individuals.
She noted that the online submission of applications for the recruitment of teachers into the Lagos State Public Service has just ended, affirming that the Commission has not started the process of shortlisting candidates.
Oyekan-Ismaila emphasised that the recruitment exercise into the public service is purely merit-based and does not require any monetary payment.
The Permanent Secretary urged the public to disregard notices being circulated through WhatsApp and other social media platforms that request monetary gratification from unsuspecting applicants to help secure TESCOM teaching slots or to check dashboards for shortlisting status.
She further advised the public to be cautious and vigilant to avoid falling victim to these scams.
