The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 47-year-old fugitive, Idris Mohammed Kurra, six years after he jumped bail while standing trial for possession and dealing in 198 kilogrammes of skunk.
Kurra was arrested by NDLEA operatives in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, after evading arrest since December 2020.
The Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement made available to TheLensNG on Sunday, stating that Kurra had been facing trial at the Federal High Court in Jos over the 198kg consignment of skunk.

According to the statement, Kurra had been granted bail by the court in December 2020 but subsequently jumped bail and remained at large for nearly six years.
His arrest brings to an end his period of evasion from the law as the anti-narcotic agency moves to secure his return to court to face the charges against him.
