7th Global Leadership Summit, Awards to Hold December 6 in Lagos

Organisers of the Global Leadership Summit and Awards has announced that the 7th edition will hold on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Presken Hotel and Resort, Ikeja, Lagos.

The annual event, themed “Celebrating Visionary Leaders Driving Economic, Social and Institutional Transformation,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors, policymakers, and other key stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.

Now in its seventh year, the Global Leadership Summit has grown into a prominent platform for recognising outstanding leadership, innovation and service.

The summit celebrates individuals whose contributions have positively impacted economic growth, institutional development and community empowerment.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Oluwasegun Musa, Group Managing Director of Widescope International Conglomerate, who is expected to speak on leadership, innovation and sustainable development in a changing global environment.

There will also be technical and policy-focused paper presentations by Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), and High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF). The speakers are expected to offer expert insights on leadership, governance and institutional strengthening.

A major highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards to an exceptional group of leaders from various sectors. According to the organisers, the awardees were selected for their measurable contributions to economic advancement, social development, public service delivery and institutional reforms.

Speaking ahead of the summit, the Editor-in-Chief of Searchlight News, Lola Adesokan, described the event as more than a celebration of achievements.

She said the summit “recognises leaders who have demonstrated vision, integrity and a strong sense of purpose in driving positive change across sectors.”

Adesokan added that the summit remains committed to inspiring leadership excellence and encouraging values that promote sustainable national development.

The event is open to corporate leaders, public officials, development practitioners and members of the public, as organisers aim to deepen conversations around leadership, innovation and nation-building.
