Internet Fraud: EFCC Arrests 35 Suspects in Benin, Recovers Cars, Phones, Laptops

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 35 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin, Edo State.

EFCC disclosed that the suspects were apprehended by its Benin Zonal Directorate at different locations within Benin City on Tuesday.

“The suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.

“Items recovered from them include nine exotic cars, smartphones and laptops,” the Commission stated.

It added that they will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
