Anambra: Police Bust Criminal Hideout, Neutralise One, Recover Vehicles, Motorcycle, Other Items

The Anambra State Police Command has raided a criminal hideout and neutralised one of the armed hoodlums in Agulu-Ezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed this in a statement, noting that the police discovered the criminal camp in the early hours of Thursday, June 5, 2025.
According to the statement, the police led the operation alongside other security operatives, including the Department of State Service, Army, Navy, Civil Defence and members of the Anambra State Vigilante Group.
“The operatives also recovered one Ash Toyota Sienna with Reg No: EKY 03 FF, one unregistered white Mazda Hilux, one motorcycle, some household/kitchen items which include: pots, gallons, groceries, some sleeping mattresses, mechanical tools, clothes and other incriminating items.
“The Joint Security Force in a well-coordinated operation overran the criminal camp after a seven-hour gun duel with the armed hoodlums,” the statement said.
It added that the operatives are still combing the area for the possible arrest of other fleeing suspects while acknowledging the presence of fresh blood stains in the area.
