Anambra: NSCDC, Correctional Service Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Security in Custodial Centres 

The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have reinforced their partnership to improve security across custodial facilities in the state.

The partnership was renewed when NSCDC State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, hosted the Controller of Corrections in Anambra, CCS Ike Anselm, and his team at the Command Headquarters in Awka on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Head of Media and Tactical Operations, Superintendent of Corps, SC Okadigbo Edwin.

Speaking during their engagement, Controller Anselm stated that the purpose of his visit was to familiarise himself with the NSCDC and to solicit a sustainable working relationship between the two agencies in order to improve internal security in the state.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception given to him and his team, describing the NSCDC as a dependable partner and formidable ally in the shared effort to protect lives and property, particularly in custodial centres.

Anslem emphasised the importance of collaboration in preventing crime and expressed his commitment to working closely with the Corps.

In his remarks, Commandant Olatunde expressed delight at the visit and assured the Command’s readiness to strengthen the existing synergy between the two agencies.

He pledged the Command’s commitment to collaborate closely with the Correctional Service to ensure the safety and security of all custodial facilities across the state.
