Director-General (DG) of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has hailed the European Union (EU) for donating One Million Euro (€1m) to the organization’s Fish Fund.
Mrs. Iweala expressed her gratitude to EU on her X account, formerly Twitter on Thursday (today).
“Many thanks to the European Union for the 1-million-euro donation to the WTO Fish Fund,” she posted.
The former Nigeria’s Minister of Finance reiterated her gratitude to EU, adding that the grant will help to bolster fisheries management in developing countries.
“Grateful for the European Unions support for strengthening the fisheries management capability of developing countries and for its constructive role in the fisheries negotiations, including being among the earliest ratifiers of the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement.”
