Two people have been announced dead by the emergency responders following a two-way storey building collapse at Ebute-Metta area of Lagos on Friday.
According to the responders, the deceased (a man and woman) were found in the remains of the collapsed building.
This was verified by the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye while briefing newsmen on the incident.
Farinloye disclosed that a two-storey building with a pent house collapsed at about 9:30am along Herbert Macaulay way, Ebute Metta.
He added that the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) had frequently issued pack out notice to the real inhabitants – and they have all left the building.
His words: “It was alleged that the property had been sold out about four months ago. Three of the occupants jumped to safety with the assistance of the residents.”
He also said that they are not done with the look out for more bodies.
