FG Announces Monday, Tuesday Public Holidays to Celebrate Sallah

The Federal Government has announced Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, 18 as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Sallah (Eid-ul-Adha).

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government (FG) in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako on Friday.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo in the statement congratulated all Muslim Ummah both at home and in the diaspora on the occasion.

He called on the Muslim Ummah to continue to imbibe the spirit of peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

The minister also advised them to use the period to pray for unity, prosperity and the stability of Nigeria.

He vowed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.

He wished the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration – and encouraged all Nigerians to take responsibility in the resolve to hand over a prosperous Nigeria to the younger generation.
