NAFDAC Shuts Warehouse with 724 Cartons of Expired Agrochemicals in Benue

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Friday announced that it sealed a warehouse (Purity Agro Chemical Center) containing 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals in Gboko, Benue State.

According to NAFDAC, the warehouse was found to contain the agrochemicals being illegally revalidated with new shelf lives for distribution, along with various unregistered products such as Kris herbicide, E-Tong Reapon 800WG, Onion Texas, Tomato Chiloli, and Hot Pepper.

“NAFDAC operatives have seized the expired and unregistered agrochemicals, and the facility has been secured.

“The owner of the company is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to ensure his arrest,” the agency stated.

It called on consumers to stay alert and report any suspicious products or activities to its nearest office in order to help safeguard public safety.
