The Port Harcourt Area 2 Command, Onne of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has received the award for best in anti-smuggling activities.
The Command emerged winner of the category at the Comptroller General of Customs Award Night held on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Abuja.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSC Lomba Benjamin, the feat was achieved by saving a lot of lives from destruction via the interception of arms, ammunition and drugs.
Speaking on the award, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Babandede attributed the achievement to team effort
The CAC explained that he could not have done it alone if not for the role every officer and men in the Command played in ensuring public health and safety of lives.
He appreciated every officer and men of the Command for their contribution towards making the country safe.
