NIN Enrolment is Free – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has clarified that enrolment for the National Identification Number (NIN) is free.

In a statement issued by the Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, the Commission maintained that it does not charge nor authorise any staff or its Front End Partners (FEPs) to charge applicants for the NIN enrolment.

“To this end, the Commission has directed security agencies to track any staff or FEPs caught extorting applicants for NIN enrolment. Anyone caught will be sanctioned appropriately in line with the provisions of the law, and the license of such FEP will be withdrawn,” Adegoke stated.

He advised the general public to report any staff or FEP that demands money for enrolment via email -customercare@nimc.gov.ng or phone number – 07002255646.

The Commission assured the public of its utmost commitment to ensuring seamless enrolment services and pledged to stem the tide of extortion.
