ADC Leadership Crisis: Nigeria Faces ‘Moral Collapse’ Over INEC Decision – Pat Utomi

Political economy and management expert, Prof. Pat Utomi, has warned that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s decision to withdraw the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) highlights Nigeria’s moral crisis.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Utomi criticised INEC’s actions, referencing Joseph Stalin’s assertion that “those who vote decide nothing, and those who count the votes decide everything.”
He alleged that INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, has embraced Stalin’s philosophy, describing it as an oddity.
“It seems INEC is bent on proving that. We know Stalin, he was a brutal dictator. We thought Amupitan was an Intellectual and lawyer.
“If the NBA cannot prevail on Amupitan to resign, the fall of Nigeria through institutional and moral safety nets has become a free fall. History will hold all lawyers and Amupitan accountable in a way that will embarrass the children of their children,” Utomi said.
He added that those who see the truth but remain silent, including religious leaders, senior lawyers, and traditional rulers, will one day regret their inaction.
He urged them to speak now and redeem themselves or live forever with the shame.
