Anambra Governorship Election: MWUN to Handle Distribution of Electoral Materials in Riverine Areas

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has been tasked with the responsibility of effective distribution of electoral and voting materials by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) to all the riverine areas of Anambra State.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Union’s Head of Media, Comrade John Ikemefuna, made available to ThelensNG on Wednesday.
The state’s governorship election comes up on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Recall that the Union had since the years signed a pact with INEC headquarters in Abuja during the tenure of the immediate past Chairman, Professor Mahmud Yakubu, for the distribution of voters materials in all the litoral states of the federation.
The Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria, having acquired the expertise with top speed flying boats and its seafarers have in the past executed the distributions of INEC materials across the country with a superlative track record. The most recent being the Rivers State Local Government Elections (LGA).
The President General of the Union, Comrade Francis Bunu has promised the people of Anambra that the Union will do a proper delivery to all the litoral areas of the state for a hitch free governorship election.
“The INEC and the MWUN collaboration on distribution of electoral materials within the country has always been a thing of success; therefore, the Union is also well prepared in this course to assure the people of the state of efficient delivery on Saturday”, the statement reaffirmed.
