The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has lamented the loss of lives caused by bandits in the Oke-Ode community of Kwara State.
ThelensNG reports that the series of attacks occurred on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Reacting to the killings on Tuesday, Atiku said: “The tempo of armed attacks in some parts of Kwara State, and indeed in different parts of the country, is alarming.
“The recent being the reported tragic killings at Oke-Ode where innocent lives, including vigilantes and the traditional ruler of Ogbayo community, were killed by rampaging bandits.”
He called on relevant security agencies and policymakers not to allow the map of insecurity fester, as it seems to be doing.
The former Vice President urged Nigerians to remain alert and ensure that the state and its residents are not only protected but also become a bulwark against a raging, dark army of armed criminals.
He noted that Kwara is a gateway, emphasising that Nigerians must fight for its safety.
