The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has highlighted how strategic collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force is paving the way for a sustainable aviation ecosystem that will benefit the nation for decades.

Minister Keyamo reiterated government’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s aviation industry through strategic alliances that harmonise national security priorities with economic growth targets.

Speaking at the 4th African Air Forces Forum in Lagos on Friday, Keyamo emphasised the deepening partnership between both institutions in critical areas including airspace security, infrastructure development, and aviation workforce training.

The Minister explained that their joint efforts extend beyond combating terrorism to creating an enabling environment for economic growth.

“A secure airspace attracts tourists, boosts our hospitality industry, and ultimately increases aviation sector revenues that strengthen our GDP”, Keyamo said.

The minister described the partnership as a “powerful synergy” combining the Air Force’s operational expertise with the Ministry’s regulatory and developmental roles.

“We are not just protecting our skies – through this collaboration, we’re building an aviation ecosystem that will serve Nigeria for decades to come,” he affirmed.

The Minister commended the Nigerian Air Force for its dedication and acknowledged international partners for their support. He urged sustained cooperation among all stakeholders to establish Nigeria as “a beacon of aviation excellence in Africa.”
