Edo: EFCC Nabs 47 Suspected Internet Fraudsters, Recovers Cars, Other Items

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Ekpoma, Edo State.

EFCC stated that the suspects were nabbed at different locations on Saturday, February 15, 2025, recovering cars, laptops and phones in the process.

The anti-corruption agency noted that the apprehension was based on credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.

“Items recovered from them include 14 exotic cars, laptops and phones,” it said.

The Commission added: “They have made useful statements and would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
