Lagos Govt. Seals Surulere Church Over Noise Pollution, Environmental Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed The All Christians Gathering Ministry, located at No. 1, Ishola Street, off Clegg, Surulere, over noise pollution and violations of environmental regulations.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, November 8, 2026, following a complaint by a user, @BigDavery, regarding noise pollution from the church.

Wahab said that officials of the state government conducted an investigation following the complaint and confirmed that the church violated environmental regulations and constituted a nuisance to residents in the area.

He added that the church was sealed on Sunday morning and would remain shut until further notice.

Following the disclosure, other residents raised similar complaints about noise pollution, prompting the Commissioner to advise members of the public to channel their complaints through the appropriate authorities.

He urged residents to direct complaints relating to noise pollution to the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) or the Agency’s General Manager, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, for prompt attention and necessary action.
