
The Lagos State Environmental Task Force has arrested 44 crime suspects during a clean-up enforcement operation in the Lagos Island area of the state.
The Task Force team conducted the raid at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, targeting several locations, including Falomo Bridge, Oyin Jolayemi, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach, and the 1004 area.
Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab disclosed this on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the presence of “undesirable elements” was observed during the operation.
“During the raid exercise, a total number of 43 male and 1 female suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas,” Wahab stated.
He added that the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.
