Minister Resigns Amid Allegations of Certificate Forgery

The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji, has officially resigned following allegations of certificate forgery, including credentials from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The authenticity of Nnaji’s certificates had recently come under scrutiny from Nigerians, leading to criticisms of corruption among politicians.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, the President accepted Nnaji’s resignation.

“President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023. He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.

“Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents,” the statement noted.

President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in his future endeavours.
