The fintech subsidiary of MTN Nigeria, MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB), has appointed Bode Abifarin as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
MoMo PSB, licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, provides digital financial services, money transfers, and bill payments via mobile devices.
According to MTN Group Fintech, Abifarin joins MoMo PSB with more than 23 years of experience spanning financial services, consulting, digital payments, fintech, strategy, operations and business transformation.
She is widely recognised for her role in scaling some of Africa’s most impactful financial services and technology institutions, bringing deep expertise in driving growth, innovation, operational excellence and financial inclusion across the continent.
Prior to joining MoMo PSB, Abifarin served as Chief Operating Officer of Flutterwave, where she played a pivotal role in the company’s growth into one of Africa’s leading fintech businesses. During her tenure, she led strategic expansion initiatives across multiple markets, established scalable operating models, strengthened regulatory engagement and supported the development of innovative payment solutions that expanded access to financial services for millions of customers.
She also spent 15 years at KPMG, rising to the position of Associate Director in Management Consulting, where she advised leading financial institutions and organisations across Africa on strategy, transformation, customer experience and business growth. Most recently, she founded Strata Advisory, a technology-focused advisory firm that helps businesses scale and achieve sustainable growth.

Abifarin has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including recognition among the Top 100 Women in Global Fintech, the Inspiring 50 Women Shaping the Future of Technology in Africa, and the 30 Most Powerful Nigerian Women in Finance. She serves on several boards and advisory committees focused on technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and financial services.
