Nigeria’s Adalikwu Re-elected MOWCA Secretary-General for Second Term

Nigeria’s Dr. Paul Adalikwu has been re-elected Secretary-General of the Maritime Organisation of West and Central Africa (MOWCA) for a renewed four-year term.

His re-election followed a unanimous decision reached at the organisation’s 19th General Assembly, which concluded in Banjul, The Gambia.

The endorsement came after heads of delegations from member countries commended Adalikwu for what they described as transformative leadership that has repositioned the 50-year-old regional body.

Speaking after his re-election, Dr. Adalikwu expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing cost-effective and environmentally sustainable shipping across the region.

He also pledged to deepen collaboration among member states to promote the African blue economy as a catalyst for economic growth and diversification.

Details later.
