Rhodes-Vivour Condemns Demolition of Obi Brother’s Property, Says Lagos is Governed by Myopic Politicians

The 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has condemned the demolition of property belonging to Peter Obi’s brother in Lagos, asserting that the state is governed by “myopic politicians”.

Reacting to the incident on Wednesday, Rhodes-Vivour expressed disappointment, stating that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has no respect for the rule of law.

“I’m deeply saddened by this level of lawlessness and recklessness, a notorious pattern of irresponsibility that has now been normalized by the parasitic culture of the ruling party.

“Data at both the state and national level shows the steep price the Nigerian people have had to pay for the APC’s reckless disregard for the rule of law and due process. The cost has been an exit of multinationals and a drought in the inflow of foreign direct investments,” he said.

He noted that the consequence of APC’s leadership has been job losses and one of the highest poverty rates in the world.

The politician stressed that Lagos must be a state that values property rights and adheres strictly to the rule of law.

“Unfortunately, the state is being governed by juvenile and myopic politicians who are preoccupied with only that which they can extract from the system. It’s a total shame and this recklessness should stand condemned by all,” he added.
