Seme Customs Hosts Novelty Match in Honour of Comptroller Oramalugo

The Seme Area Command Football Club of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Badagry United Football Club clashed in a friendly match at the Customs Barracks in Seme on Wednesday to honour Comptroller Ben Oramalugo.

Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali, turned out for the Badagry side, which also featured Gbenga in goal and had Zarki Adamu as its patron. Similarly, Comptroller Oramalugo expressed his support for the Seme Customs team, which had Dala in between the sticks.

The game ended on a thrilling note, with both teams sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Recall that Comptroller Ben Oramalugo took the helm of affairs as the substantial Controller of the Command on February 12, 2025. However, the football team was established by DCG Bello Jibo during his tenure, thereby becoming an integral part of the Command’s activities.

In his address, the new Comptroller acknowledged that the club was founded by DCG Jibo, and pledged to build on the foundation laid by him, with a vision to propel the club to even greater heights, including securing national team call-ups for its talented players.

His words: “This particular club was instituted by DCG Bello who happens to be my boss and brother, and now that I am here, I will not allow the Badagry Football team he started to collapse. I will do whatever thing I can to make sure the football team succeeds. Maybe from this club, our stars will play at the national level. The journey of one thousand miles starts from one step.”

He revealed that he had held discussions with the Coaching Directors, Danladi Musa and Moruf Matomi of the Seme Customs Command, who informed him of the team’s requirements.

The Comptroller assured that the issues raised would be addressed, with the possibility of enhanced welfare packages for the team.

“All I need from you is discipline, dedication and love one another to enable us achieve our aim,” he said.

Oramalugo further stated: “I bring the word of my CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR to you that he is interested in what you’re doing. He is interested in youth and development, so I wish you good luck.”
