The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has said that the reforms of President Bola Tinubu are repositioning Nigeria and Africa at large.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim stated this while delivering the welcome address at the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Pre-Inaugural Summit for Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment in Abuja on Monday, October 5, 2026.
She asserted that Tinubu’s reforms had not only showcased Nigeria but also demonstrated the country’s potential to contribute to the progress of the African continent.
“His bold reforms is not only repositioning Nigeria, but the African continent,” she said.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim mentioned that the administration had given governance “a human face,” citing its attention to the review of laws and policies affecting children and other vulnerable groups.
The Minister noted that the Child Rights Act, which had remained unchanged for 23 years, was being reviewed under the Tinubu administration, alongside the national child policy and protection policy.
“For a country like Nigeria that is giving birth to between 9 to 12 million babies and we left our laws outdated, Mr. President prioritised it,” she remarked.
Sulaiman-Ibrahim also pointed out that the President had prioritised food security and created opportunities for Nigerians to become entrepreneurs and pursue their aspirations.
She recalled Tinubu’s directive that every sector and government institution should redesign its programmes and projects to create opportunities for women to achieve prosperity.
The Minister disclosed that the focus of the campaign was captured in the theme, “Renewed Hope 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity.”
She urged supporters to work together as a team, stressing that the task ahead required collective effort.
“We’re in a good place, we have the best candidate. All we have to do is to go and work as one, as a team.”
Sulaiman-Ibrahim equally called for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election, urging supporters to take the campaign from “door to door” and “PVC to PVC,” while reaching communities, families, and polling units.
She added that the mobilisation should continue “house corner to corner, person to person, family to family,” as supporters work towards delivering their preferred candidate.
The Minister expressed appreciation to the First Lady for providing an opportunity for stakeholders to come together, while also thanking members of the cabinet and other participants for their support.
She further expressed optimism about the mobilisation effort and called on stakeholders to work together towards achieving their shared objective.
