Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) has warned customers to desist from illegitimate connection of any meter, stressing that the act attracts three years imprisonment.
IKEDC made this known in a notice posted on X, formerly Twitter on Tuesday.
“Any unauthorize connection or reconnection or altering of any meter attracts a jail term of not more than three years or fine not exceeding ₦500,000 with an additional fine of ₦10,000 for every continuing day of the offence,” the notice reads in part.
It also encouraged consumers to say no to illegal connections and meter tampering.
