The Lagos State Police Command has cleared the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, following a viral video in which he was seen holding a gun-like object.
The video, which circulated in June 2025, showed Pastor Adefarasin holding the device while exchanging words with another individual. Adefarasin had earlier said that it was a harmless object and not a firearm.
In a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on Wednesday, the Command affirmed that the pastor was in possession of a stun gun, emphasising that there are no grounds for charges against the preacher.
“Following the incident, wherein Pastor Paul Adefarasin turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, in connection with a viral video showing him holding a gun-like object, the Lagos State Police Command wishes to provide a further update on the matter.
“After a thorough investigation, including interrogation and a cautionary statement from Pastor Adefarasin, it was established that the object in question was a stun gun and not a lethal weapon or firearm.
“Consequent on our findings, the Lagos State Police Command has determined that there are no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter. The case is hereby discontinued,” the statement noted.
The Command reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety while maintaining transparency in all investigations.
