Why There Are Power Supply Challenges – Ikeja Electric

Electricity distribution company, Ikeja Electric (IE), has explained the cause of the power supply challenges across its network.

In a public notice signed by its management, the company attributed the disruptions to reduced electricity generation on the national grid and the tripping of two transmission lines.

“We wish to inform you that the current power supply challenges being experienced across our network are due to reduced generation on the national grid, as well as the tripping of two critical 330kV transmission lines supplying power to our network,” it said.

Ikeja Electric stated that it is working closely with the relevant stakeholders to restore normal power supply as quickly as possible.

The company expressed regret over the inconvenience the situation may have caused its customers.

It also thanked customers for their patience, understanding, and continued support, reiterating that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.
