Electricity distribution company, Ikeja Electric (IE), has disclosed the reason behind the reduced hours of power supply across its network.
In a statement signed by its management on Monday, the company affirmed that there is a shortage in the power supplied to its network.
“We wish to inform customers across Ikeja Electric network that the reduced hours of electricity supply is due to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network from the national grid,” IE said.
It acknowledged the inconvenience this may have caused its customers and appreciated them for their patience and understanding.
Ikeja Electric also assured its customers that it is actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply and would continue to distribute the power received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible.
The company reiterated its commitment to keeping its customers and the public informed as the situation evolves.
