Why There’s Reduction in Power Supply – Ikeja Electric

Amid dissatisfaction among consumers, Ikeja Electric Distribution Company has disclosed the reasons behind the reduction in electricity supply within its network.

In a notice signed by its management on Monday, Ikeja Electric confirmed that the reduction in electricity supply is also being experienced by other distribution companies.

“The ongoing reduction in electricity supply is largely due to a nationwide drop in power generation, caused by limited gas supply to thermal power plants.

“This has significantly reduced the energy available on the national grid and, consequently, the allocation to Ikeja Electric and other distribution companies. As a result, the volume of electricity available for distribution has been impacted,” the company explained.

It expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience and understanding during this period.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to distributing the available power as efficiently and equitably as possible.
