The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has clarified that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) in Rivers remains operational and continues to produce on-spec refined petroleum products.
This comes following the reports making the rounds that there was an explosion at the refinery.
However, in a statement issued by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company acknowledged that there was “a minor incident at a section of the PHRC earlier today”.
It assured the public that there is no cause for concern, as all sections of the recently rehabilitated plant are in full operation.
