NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike, Over 100 Others at Lagos Drug Party

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside more than 100 others during a midnight raid on a drug party in Lagos.

The NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement made available to TheLensNG on Sunday.

According to Babafemi, the operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, 26th October, when operatives stormed Proxy Night Club located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where the illicit party was ongoing.

He said the raid followed credible intelligence about the planned event, prompting the deployment of NDLEA officers who were embedded in the club from 11 p.m. on Saturday. The officers reportedly disrupted the gathering around 3 a.m. on Sunday, acting in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

“Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening. Cartons of illicit substances such as Loud and laughing gas were recovered from both the suspects and the club’s store,” Babafemi stated.

The NDLEA spokesperson further revealed that the Lagos raid was part of a series of operations across the state in the past week targeting drug traffickers and distributors.

On Friday, 17th October, operatives arrested a mother of two, Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, described as a major distributor of Canadian and California Loud—strong strains of cannabis—across Lekki, Ajah, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and VGC. She was apprehended at her Lekki residence, where 500 grams of the illicit substances were seized.

Similarly, on Thursday, 23rd October, NDLEA officers raided the home of one Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate, Ikorodu, where 275 litres of skuchies—a new psychoactive concoction made with black currant drink, cannabis, and opioids—were recovered.

At the Seme border area of Lagos, two more suspects were arrested: Jacob Ojugbele with 55kg of skunk at Ashipa, Badagry, and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121.3 litres of skuchies at Itoga, Badagry.

Babafemi assured that all suspects are currently undergoing investigation, and the agency remains committed to dismantling drug networks and curbing the spread of illicit substances across Lagos and other parts of the country.
